Character Modeling

During my time at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), I’ve had to opportunity to work on several animation projects I’m quite proud of. One of my latest projects is a 3D character model + rig named I named Arlo. Arlo is a young boy who loves to dress up as his favorite animal, a fox. Below you will see my early sketches of Arlo, along with some of the final results of the project.

This assignment was a 3D animated weightlifting with our created characters. The goal was to show off as high an understanding of body mechanics as possible, while keeping the feel of stylized animation.

Software: Maya, Davinci Resolve

This is a progression video of the weightlifting assignment. It covers from Blocking, to Blocking-Plus, to Final Spline.

This Assignment was to create a character walk cycle that embodies the personality of our character. My character, Arlo, is a sneaky and mischievous young boy. Arlo has a sneaky walk cycle.

Maya, DaVinci Resolve

This assignment was to render the 3D turnaround we made before.

Software Used: Maya, ProCreate, Davinci Resolve
